Bukit Larut

Bukit Larut is one of the highland destination in Malaysia. It is located at an altitude of 1,250 m above sea level in Taiping, Perak. The hill is the wettest area in the country due to the heavy rainfall all year round. The hill’s daily temperatures are ranging between 10 to 25 degrees Celsius. It is an ideal destination for those wanting to escape from the heat and humidity of Malaysia’s lowlands.

Lenggong Archaeological Gallery

The Lenggong Archeological Gallery is located in a former oil palm plantation area in Kampung Tampan Village, Lenggong. The gallery was established after the discovery of Lenggong Valley as the archaeological site of the Paleolithic period.

Spritzer EcoPark

Spritzer EcoPark is a recreational park located along Jalan Air Kuning, Taiping. It was opened in 2015. The park is a community project by local water bottling giant Spritzer Bhd. with the idea of preserving the nation’s heritage in mind.

Perak Royal Museum

Perak Royal Museum was originally a royal residence called Istana Kenangan in Kuala Kangsar, Perak. It was built in 1926 for Sultan Iskandar Shah by the Malay carpenter Enci Sepian from Bukit Mertajam. The palace was converted to the museum in 1986.

Ubudiah Mosque

The Ubudiah Mosque is a mosque located in the royal town of Kuala Kangsar, Perak. It is claimed to be the most beautiful mosque in Perak. It stands proudly and majestically with its golden dome and minarets creating a spellbinding sight, from near and afar.

Perak Museum

The Perak Museum is a public museum located in Taiping, Perak. It is the first and the oldest museum in Malaysia and highlights the history of Perak.

Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary

The Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary is located at the northern tip of Matang Forest Reserve in Perak. The sanctuary was established in 1970 by the Wildlife and National Parks to safeguard migratory and resident species of birds. The Sanctuary has won the “Best Tourist Attraction (Natural Attraction)” category during the Malaysia Tourism Awards.

All Saints’ Taiping Heritage Church

All Saints’ Taiping Heritage Church is the first English Church in the Federated Malay States. It was built in 1887 and belongs to the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia. After more than a hundred years, the church still retains its original form and was awarded a National Heritage Site by the Malaysian Government.

Charcoal Factory Kuala Sepetang

The factory is located along the northern Perak coastline, just 15 kilometres from Taiping. The charcoal produced here is claimed to be the best charcoal in Asia and has a lot of demand from the large Japanese market.
