Pahang Calendar of Events
Pahang is the biggest state in peninsular Malaysia and quite diverse culturally, hence it enjoys a wide range of events and celebrations. Here are some of the popular ones.
January – April
Tioman Surfestival

This festival is organised by Tioman Boardriders Event Management & Tioman Development Authority (TDA). It was first held in 2010 with objectives to introduce surfing as a fun form of activity for tourists and promoting awareness to some of the main local issues like turtle conservation and beach clean-up.
Taman Negara Bird Count

Taman Negara Bird Count is an exciting and educational conservation programme where the participants spot and count the various bird species that inhabit Malaysia’s premier National Park. Taman Negara is home to over 479 species of birds and it has has the highest concentration of birds in the country.
Bubble Camp Tioman

The BUBBLE CAMP Program’s objectives are to provide the participants with a clearer picture of environmental protection and water safety, to introduce the participants to diving activities and volunteerism and to promote Tioman Island as an island of education.
Cameron Night Run

Cameron Night Run or CAMRUN is a night run event organised by BOLT Events Management held in Cameron Highland where the temperature could reach as low as 17 ° C. It was first started in 2018.
Music On The Hill (MOTH)

Music On the Hill is a musical event featuring local musical talents held in Fraser’s Hill. It was first started in 2017. The event is hosted by Fraser’s Hill Community Library in collaboration with Pahang Tourism. The event is divided into two weekends.
Chenor Fest

Chenor Fest is a local carnival held in Chenor, which is located in Maran district. The vanue for the event is located along the bank of Pahang River. It was first held in 2017. Its objective is to promote traditional food and arts especially among the Pahang locales.
May – August
Jom Hogoh Merapoh Caves

Jom Hogoh Merapoh Caves is an extreme sports event of exploring the Merapoh limestone caves. It was first debuted successfully in 2017 and organised by SGI Outdoor Merapoh. The objective is to promote Merapoh caves complex as tourist attractions for extreme sports and recreational activities.
Fraser’s Hill International Bird Race

Fraser’s Hill International Bird Race is the oldest bird related event held in Malaysia. It has been held annually for 32nd time. This fun event is held for participants and nature lovers alike to spot, identify and record the most number of bird species.The location is within the lush tropical foliage of Fraser’s Hill which has often been referred to as a first class bird watching destination in this region.
Tin Mine Endurance Challenge

Tin Mine 12 Hours challenge is an endurance challenge organised by Elpis Event Management in collaboration with Run & Explore proudly. It was first started in 2018. The challenge is held in Sungai Lembing.
Rainforest Trophy

Rainforest Trophy is an exciting expedition for adventure traveler who love to explore the nature in their 4×4 off-road vehicle. The event is organized by Rainforest Challenge of Malaysia. It was first started in 2017.
September – December
Royal Pahang Billfish International Challenge
Dubbed as Asia’s Best billfish competition, The Royal Pahang Billfish International Challenge is an annual off-shore fishing competition. It is organised by Tioman Development Authority, the Pahang office of Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia and the Malaysian Angling Association. The event is held at Lanjut, Kuala Rompin. It was first held in 2003.
LIPIS Traditional Food Carnival

Lipis Traditional Food Carnival is a program organised by the local council and Tourism Pahang. Its aim is to promote traditional cuisines especially from the Lipis area. All are welcomed to enter and participate in the carnival.
MOH Ngemping

Ngemping is a paddy harvesting method practiced by traditional farmers in ancient times. The ceremony of “ngemping” is held to materialize the feeling of gratitude, after the rice harvesting season.
Chini Fest

Chini Fest is a mini carnival that is held at Lake Chini. It is organized by Chini Network (M) Sdn. Bhd. in collaboration with the Land and District Offices. The main objective of the event is to re-introduce Lake Chini as one of the tourist destinations in the state of Pahang.
