Getting around Melaka can be a bit tricky since there are lots of one way if one here. But the roads in general are safe and well maintained. Most of the areas in Melaka are well connected. It has two main highways which are PLUS highway and AMJ Highway that connect the places in Melaka.
Getting around the capital city, bandar Melaka with private vehicle is a bit easier with GPS navigation. Most of the attractions can be located via the GPS navigator.

By Public Transportation
Bus is the main public transportation service available in Melaka. The city bus terminal is located less than 200 meters from Melaka Sentral Bus Terminal. The most famous bus operator around the city is Panorama Melaka. It also offers free bus service every day to certain locations for Malaysian citizens. The fares are usually cheap and allow travelers to travel inexpensively to different parts of Melaka. The downside is that the frequency of the buses is not consistent.

By Taxi
Taxi is a convenient mode of transportation but can be pricey. Just like everywhere else some drivers don’t play by the rules. Just make sure that the driver is willing to use the meter before riding the taxi. One of the most famous taxi operators in Melaka is Melaka Taxi. It is quite reliable and known for its blue colour cab.

E-hailing Services
E-hailing service like Grab is available in Melaka. It is an alternative for the taxi service. The app can be downloaded before the booking. The fare can be paid by cash or credit/debit card. It is by far the most convenient and cheapest way to commute. The drivers are also experienced locals who can share some tips about Melaka.
Not only limited to cars, Grab also has a unique service called GrabBeca that can only be found in Bandar Melaka. GrabBeca provides beca services to the customers. It really is a wonderful and unique experience.
