Melaka is the most historical state and among the top tourist destinations in Malaysia. The Melaka Empire was huge and prosperous before it fell onto the Portuguese hands in 1511.
Malacca is the only state in Malaysia that was colonized by Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese and British. It is due to its strategic location for trading activity.
The result can be seen in every nook and corner of Melaka. Not only this state is rich in historical value, it also offers a unique mix of cultures such as the Serani community of Portuguese and Baba Nyoya from Peranakan China.
Bandar Melaka also has been declared a World Heritage City by UNESCO.
