This festival is organised by Tioman Boardriders Event Management & Tioman Development Authority (TDA). It was first held in 2010 with objectives to introduce surfing as a fun form of activity for tourists and promoting awareness to some of the main local issues like turtle conservation and beach clean-up. It usually takes place for three days.
During the festival, this serene and beautiful island with be filled with live music featuring local artists and lots of other interesting land-based and sea-based activities such as surfing, rock climbing, speed climbing, stand up paddle and tug of war. There are also workshop, conservation talk and beach clean-up activities. Visitors can explore the marine life via snorkeling and diving excursions around the island too.

There is no entrance fee for the festival, however if one wish to participate in the contest, there will be a participation fee set by the contest operators.
