Nyonya Chang

Nyonya Chang or nyonya kueh is bite-sized snack that is popular in Melaka. It is synonym to the peranakan community in Melaka that have been around for more than 200 years and have been integrated into the Malay culture and tradition.

Majority of the changs share the common flavoring ingredients which are grated coconut, coconut cream, screw pine leaves and palm sugar.  Whereas the base are usually built on rice flour, glutinous rice flour, glutinous rice, tapioca flour or green pea flour.

The most famous Nyonya Changs are chwee kueh, pie tee, seri muka,.niangao, kuih lapis, onde onde and ang koo. However, there are still a lot more different type of delicious changs to be savored.
