Melaka River Cruise

Melaka River Cruise

The Melaka River Cruise is a project managed by Melaka River and Coastal Development corporation. It is an alternative for the visitors who want to enjoy the beauty of Melaka City without facing the nightmare of traffic congestion.

With the cruise, the visitors can stroll along the Melaka River leisurely while enjoying the sights of the heritage buildings, old warehouses, churches, graffiti and village areas at both sides of the river banks.

The cruise begins from Muara jetty. From there, the visitors will be taken to the Spice Garden jetty and back to the Muara jetty.

The river Cruise operates day and night. The night scenery is more beautiful as the river is flooded with stunning colorful lights from the  nearby buildings.

Hear From Others

Overall, it was a great experience. It was a quiet ride and the tourists who were with us were rather calm. I was expecting a “noisy” ride but it was very peaceful. It was a fantastic feeling to see the lights that showcase another side of the beautiful city of Malacca.

The Melaka River Cruise is certainly a worthwhile trip for your visit to the historic city of Melaka. It is a river that is embedded in history and made this city a success in the first place. The River Cruise is a simple and energy saving way to see the city. I would certainly recommend taking this cruise in the evening as part of winding down the day’s activities.

Major attractions to the Malacca River Cruise were the colorful murals on the shop houses and inns and restaurants and residential and commercial buildings along the waters. It was something we had not seen before! Beautiful!
