Hari Raya Aidil Adha

Hari Raya Aidiladha which is also known as the Festival of sacrifice is celebrated by the Muslim devotees in Perak. It is to honor the prophet’s Abraham sacrificial act towards the god as an act of obedience and it also  marks the end of the pilgrimage season in Mecca.

Traditionally, any Muslim who does not have any financial or physical constraints is required to make a trip at least once in their lifetime to the holy city of Mecca. On this day, the animals like a goat or a cow is sacrificed to commemorate the Prophet Abraham's sacrifice and the meat is distributed to the poor and to those in need.

Where to go?

There is no exact location for visitors to go and experience the festivals. For visitors who are not with any tourism agency, one good way to experience the celebration is to hang out with the local Muslim families in Perak during the festivity period.

Time

Aidil Adha is always celebrated on the same day of the Islamic calendar. However, since the Islamic Calendar is following the lunar calendar. Hence, it is eleven days shorter than Solar Calendar. Therefore, the date of the festivity on the Gregorian calendar varies from year to year.

Admission

There is no specified entrance fee for the celebration.
