Desaru Beach
Desaru Beach lies at the very south eastern tip of Johor. Desaru Beach is among the best and the prettiest beach in Johor.
The golden sandy beach stretches six kilometers long and is lined with casuarina tree. It offers warm and fresh swimming waters for visitors. Its shallow waters also extend well out to sea and it’s free of jellyfish. Hence, it provides an ideal and safe environment for kids and less confident swimmers
Due to its position of facing the east, it becomes the popular spot for visitors who want to walk along the beach while watching the sunrise.
There are lots fun- filled activities available for families, groups and couples seeking an easy-going beach experience such as fishing, boating, swimming, hiking and water sport such as kayaking or parasailing.
For visitors who just want to relax and enjoy the beach, They can just lie down on the beach while listening to rushing waves and enjoying the cool breeze. During the monsoon season, the waters and winds swell up for surfers, thus making the beach one out of four famous surfing spots in Malaysia.
There are also numerous hotels, resorts and chalets ranging from cheap to luxurious can be found along the beach.

I didn’t have time to take a dip in the sea but at least I managed to squeeze some time in for a walk at the beach after breakfast. The experience was wonderful. Kicking the cooling sea waters and watching the sand beneath my feet being washed away by the waves…Most importantly, NO dirty tar on the beach. THANK GOODNESS.

“Desaru” means “Village Of Casuarinas” or palms. A malay word “Desa” which means village and “Ru” is the local name for Casuarinas. While Desaru may not be as secluded as it used to be, there is still an unspoiled and unmistakable pristine nature that is worth exploring.
