Mee Rebus

Mee rebus carries the literal meaning of “boiled noodles” in English. It is a soupy noodle dish popular in Johor.

The dish usually consists of yellow noodles that are soaked in a slightly sweet and spicy curry-like thick gravy. The gravy is made from shrimps, shallots, lemongrass, galangal, bayleaf, kaffir lime leaf, palm sugar, salt, water, and boiled sweet potato.

The dish is served with a hard boiled egg, dried shrimps, boiled potato, calamansi limes, spring onions, green chilies, fried tofu, fried shallots and bean sprouts.
