Nasi Ambeng

Nasi ambeng is a fragrant rice dish that combines steamed white rice, chicken stewed in soy sauce, beef or chicken rendang, sambal goreng mixed with firm tofu, tempeh and long beans, salted fish, fried noodle, urap, bergedel and serunding. It is a popular Javanese cuisine and popular among the Javanese-Malay communities in Johor. Nasi ambeng is often served during events or special occasions.

Nasi ambeng is commonly served on a platter to be shared in a small group of four to five people. However, as time goes, the rice dish is packed individually so that it is easier for consumption.
