Kacang Pool is a popular fava bean dish in Johor. The dish is adapted from the Middle eastern way of eating fava bean.
In order to prepare kacang pool, the beans are removed from their pods then parboiled until they loosen the shells. Then it is mixed with minced beef, some spices and herb and topped with sliced green chilies and onions. The dish is often accompanied with toasted breads, sunny side eggs and limes.
Kacang pool is commonly served as a breakfast meal. However, most people just it it anytime of the day.
