Penang Bridge Marathon

Penang Bridge marathon started small and grow bigger each year. It is an important running event for Penang. The event started in 1984 and turned out to be very successful in subsequent years.

It used to take place at the first Penang bridge, but currently it is relocated on the second Penang bridge or the Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge.

The marathon offers three categories for the runners. There are specific prizes for the winner of each category.The cash rewards are distributed based on the performance. There is also a lucky draw.

There are separate endpoints for each category of the run. The bridge is closed during the marathon. The participants will be given freebies like finishing tee, running vest and the certificate of participation.

Where to go?

The marathon is usually held either at first Penang bridge and the second Penang bridge.

Time

The marathon is usually held around the month of October or November every year.

Admission

There is no entrance fee for the spectators. However, the participants will be charged according to the category:
-Full Marathon (42KM): RM80
-Half marathon (21KM): RM60
-10KM run: RM50
-10K junior run: RM30
