George Town Festival

George Town Festival is celebrated by Penangites in honor of George Town designation as one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

The festival started in 2010 and celebrated annually since. The festival lasts in August for a month and draws visitors from all over the world.

The festival is one of 'must-see' events in Asia.This one month-long festival provides opportunity to expose the local culture to the visitors.

There are also lots of local talents showcasing their works like theater plays, production pieces, literary arts, transcripts, paintings, photography, dance performances, musical performances, and concerts.

Joe Sidek Productions Sdn Bhd is responsible for managing the event since 2010. The venues differ according to type of the performances..

Where to go?

The festival is held in several places around George Town. Some of the venues used are Dewan Sri Pinang, Cathedrals, Alleyways, Community grounds, and the wide streets of Georgetown.

Time

The festival usually starts early August yearly and lasts for a month.

Admission

There is no entrance fee for the festival.
