KL Forest Eco Park
KL Forest Eco Park is one of the oldest permanent forest reserves in Malaysia. It serves as a natural green lung for the surrounding metropolitan area. It is also a refuge for birdlife and wildlife like monkeys and small mammals.The park covers an area of approximately 11, 0000 sq metres and was gazetted as a permanent forest reserve in 1906. It is the only remaining stretch of tropical rainforest within the city limits of KL.
The design and construction of the adjacent KL Tower were carried out with utmost care and consideration to preserve the natural surroundings and its habitat. It is conveniently located beside the Kuala Lumpur Tower.
There are three main entrances to the park:
- From Jalan Ampang
- From Jalan Raja Chulan
- From steps near the foot of KL Tower itself
KL Forest Eco Park provides attractions and facilities such as Canopy Walk, Nature Trails, Jogging and Trekking Routes, Timber Product Gallery, Herbal Garden, Gazebo overlooking the KL Tower and the campsite.
Visitors can find a variety of trees, herbs, bamboo, and creepers in therbal Garden while walking along the Nature trails. All trails are suitable for children. A must-visit attraction is the Canopy Walk. The bridge towers 200 metres in height above the forest reserve, offering sweeping views of Menara KL Tower, and the KL city skyline.
KL Forest Eco Park is accessible by public transportation. The nearest stations are Raja Chulan Monorail Station and Masjid jamek LRT Station.
