Located in Seberang Jaya, the entrance to the rajagopuram, at 21ft-tall and 11ft-wide, is also the largest in the country. Arulmigu Karumariamman Temple started out as a temple for estate workers living in the Paduma Estate in Perai, until the area was turned into a township in the 1970s.
The Arulmigu Karumariamman Temple, as with many Hindu temples in Malaysia, had its humble origin over a hundred years ago as an estate temple catering to the needs of the estate workers living in the Paduma Estate in Perai.
